Around the end of 2020, [Google released Google Analytics 4 (GA4),](https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/ga4) an improved version of web analytics platform to replace its previous version of Universal Analytics. Companies have time till July 1, 2023 to switch to GA4, and Google plans to deprecate Universal Analytics after July 1, 2023.
